Mariah Carey gave her thoughts about Rihanna/Chris Brown, she said "can't imagine" what Rihanna went through when Chris Brown beat her earlier this year.According to Us weekly,Carey says she is no stranger to abuse.She was Asked if she's ever been abused, she says, "Abuse has several categories. Emotionally, mentally, in other ways."She says "it's scary" to try to break out of a destructive relationship. "I just think you get into a situation and you feel locked in -- if your situation is similar to one of the situations I've been in, which I won't harp on," she says.

Adds Carey (who was formerly wed to Sony Music mogul Tommy Mottola), "For me, to really get out, it was difficult because there was a connection that was not only a marriage but a business thing where the person was in control of my life."
