American actor/producer KAL PENN has left hit TV show HOUSE to work for U.S. President BARACK OBAMA.
The 31-year-old actor has accepted a position as the associate director in the White House's Office of Public Liaison & Intergovernmental Affairs.
Penn - also known for his role in stoner comedy Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle - was written out of the TV drama in an episode that aired in the U.S. on Monday (06Apr09).

And he's preparing to leave acting behind for good even though the salary for the government job is far less than the money he makes from his career on screen.
He tells Entertainment Weekly, "(The Office of Public Liaison & Intergovernmental Affairs) do outreach with the American public and with different organisations. They're basically the front door of the White House. They take out all of the red tape that falls between the general public and the White House.

Jim Jones, better known to the government as Joeseph Guillermo, was arrested Monday (4-6) morning for an outstanding warrant in Tea Neck, New Jersey while he was driving around midnight. Jim was driving his 2007 black Bentley when a Teaneck police officer noticed he was missing a front license plate. After stopping Jones, they found he had an outstanding warrant and arrested him.

Jim Jones even twittered about being arrested saying "I decide to drive by myself let's see how this plays out," he wrote unmodified prior to the arrest.

RIHANNA's father RONALD FENTY has launched a scathing attack on her ex-boyfriend CHRIS BROWN after the singer pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from the former couple's alleged fight in February (09).
The R&B star was arraigned at Los Angeles County Court on Monday afternoon (06Apr09) and officially charged with two felonies - assault and making criminal threats.

But Rihanna's father is not happy about Brown's decision to contest the accusations.
He tells UsWeekly.com, "So what happened? Somebody else did this to Rihanna then? I just would like to see justice go in the right direction. I don't want his career to be damaged - it’s damaged already. I think he’s a talented guy, but everybody should have to pay.

Since both teams had failed at the task and there was no winner, Donald told the team leaders consisting of Clint and Melissa Rivers, to come back to the boardroom and bring two of their team members.

In all fairness Clint thought he would be fired because of the racy nature of the viral video he developed and for all the bickering he had with Joan Rivers. He picked Khloe Kardashian and pro golfer Natalie Gulbis to go back to the Boardroom with him.

Clint told Khloe and Natalie in the hall outside the boardroom that he was sure he would be fired and they would be safe. Khloe didn’t seem so sure and even questioned if she might be fired. Clint didn’t think there was a risk. Obviously he was wrong.

Singer Chris Brown, 19, is due in court Monday (April 6) to be arraigned on felony charges of assault and making criminal threats.
Brown, who has kept a relatively low profile since his February 8 arrest, is also expected to enter a plea at today's arraignment, which is a formal reading of the criminal complaint against the singer.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles District Attorney's office reached prior to the appearance said that the court did not know if Brown's attorneys would enter a plea on Monday or ask for another extension.

Sandi Gibbons, the spokesperson for the DA's office, said that it is up to the court to decide what sentence Brown will face, but that sentencing guidelines call for anything from probation to probation with jail time, up to a maximum of four years and eight months in federal prison.

MICHAEL JACKSON has lost his battle to stop an auction of items from his Neverland Ranch.
A huge haul including Jackson's costumes and the gates to the famous California estate are due to go under the hammer on 22 April (09).
The sale is being organised by bosses at Julien's Auction House, who insist the star gave them permission to sell his belongings.

But Jackson's attorneys are fighting the auction and attended a court hearing in Los Angeles on Friday (3Apr09), along with the singer's father Joe.
A judge ruled against the star - but Jackson has vowed to take his appeal to another court on 15 April (09), reports TMZ.com.

Pop superstar MADONNA has failed in her bid to adopt a second child from Malawi.
The singer has spent the past week in the country, filing court papers on Monday (30Mar09) asking to be granted an interim adoption of four-year-old Mercy James.

But the star's attempt to welcome a second Malawian child into her family were met with hostility from human rights groups and childrens' charities in the African nation.
Madonna's legal returned to the country's High Court in the capital, Lilongwe, for a hearing on Friday (03Apr09) to find out whether she would be allowed to take the tot back to the U.S. with her.
But the judge overseeing the case has ruled against her, meaning she will have to leave Mercy behind in Malawi.

The U.K., where most of the Bond film was produced, accounted for two-thirds of that total -- $25.3 million, a record for a three-day weekend.

Playing on 1,150 screens, the movie averaged a whopping $22,000 per screen. The movie is scheduled to expand to a total of about 60 countries next weekend, before arriving in the U.S.

Right behind her is Jamie Foxx at No. 4. Intuition shelved off 21,700 discs this week, pushing the album's total sales to 786,800.

Kanye West holds fort at No. 5. 13,600 folks picked up 808's & Heartbreak this week. The album's tally stands at 1,459,500.

Seated at No. 6 is Keyshia Cole. Different Me reeled in 12,100 units this week. After 15 weeks on the charts, the album has sold 813,500 copies.

Ne-Yo slips two spots to No. 7. Year Of The Gentleman shelled out 10,900 discs this week. To date, the set has sold 998,200 copies.

Chilling at No. 8 is Akon. Freedom continues to keep registers ringing as it scoops up 10,800 units this week. The album's tally stands at 577,100.

Holding fort at No. 9 is India Arie. Testimony: Vol. 2, Love & Politics bagged up 9,900 units this week, pushing the album's total sales to 184,700.

Wrapping up the Top 10 is J-Holiday. Round 2 shifted 9,900 units this week. So far, the album has sold a total of 81,600 copies.
